Lodging

The community is in the process of constructing a beautiful cabaña to lodge volunteers. While this task is being completed, volunteers will be comfortably lodged in a private room in a family’s house in the community. This is an opportunity to truly share in the family and community life, and to learn the Kichwa language rapidly. Another small and private completed cabaña allows volunteers to have some alone time to relax, swinging in a hammock and enjoying the scenery.

Once completed, the cabaña for volunteers will be located directly within the community of Uchuculin. The visitors will be able to enjoy exuberant vegetation since the location is surrounded by the forest, rivers, mountains and a wonderful variety of orchids that cover the cabin area. We will be able to offer various sleeping accommodations within the cabaña for singles, couples, triples, and families, and all of the rooms will be covered with mosquito nets, despite the fact that the area does not have a very strong presence of mosquitoes. The bathrooms will be shared. In addition to the main cabaña, we will include a small cabana with hammocks and a dining room with all the necessary services for recreational activities and meals. We ask that volunteers stay for a minimum of 15 days to 3 months. If a volunteer wants to remain for more time, it is possible to arrange a stay for up to 1 year or more, with the agreement of Napo Runa Volunteer. This type of arrangement can be made after your initial contact and volunteering experience.
